green is the thing
I've been loving chartreuse flowers lately. I've even planted some in my front garden. Here are some perfectly green mums in honor of St. Patrick's Day. I picked them just for you.

home body
Life has been so busy lately that some of the things I love have been sorely neglected. This weekend will be the first in a long time that there's some breathing room and I'm excited to get back to fix in' up our bungalow. My goals are set for making our new Little City Designs office (pictured above) more cozy and inspiring.
What does your weekend have in store?

tea time
It seems to be a tradition to have high tea with my mom sometime during the winter.
Oten we go with a group of ladies and sometimes it's just us two. There are almost always Kir Royals involved.
This year, for the first time ever, we went with our sweet heats. The four of us dressed up and lifted our pinkies while we sipped Earl Grey at the Biltmore in Montecito.
The Biltmore is so fancy that's it's definitely just for special occasions. But oh boy do they make tastey treats. This year they added macaroons to menu.
That's my dad asleep behind the strawberries. He's more of a coffee guy.

Leap Year (post dated)
It will take a full 366 calendar days for the Earth to travel around the Sun this year. I love that.
I read some funny old notions about Leap Day on Sailing Over a Cardboard Sea, a cutie little blog I follow. I had no idea that my red petticoats had such a practical purpose.

Tradition
Our handmade Valentine tradition continues. These bear a strong resemblance to last year's love notes.

everyday is Valentine's Day with you, dude
Mr. C and I have no grand plans for this Valentine's day. He works. I work. Maybe we'll exchange hand made cards, as is our tradition. We really have so many great days together... any random Wednesday could lead to a lovers adventure. It's like everyday is Valentine's Day.
Also, today is my ma's birthday. So she gets our love and attention too.

art and coffee
The Oak Grove student show at Coffee Connection is in full swing.
To say that our opening reception was poorly attended would be an understatement. But I'm still super proud of the amazing art these creative kids have up.
If you're lucky enough to live in the Ojai Valley or close by in Ventura County, swing by Coffee Connection for a coffee and some artistic inspiration.

sunshine and screen printing
For the first 2 weeks of this Oak Grove semester, a couple of us teachers and a small group of students spent our afternoons screen printing.
The students got so into their designs, took so much time and care.
And the results were amazing. It was so fun. I didn't want it to end.
Here are some of the gals on a much deserved coffee break after hours of art making.

summer in February
This winter weather is unreal. Mr. C and I couldn't resist a stroll on the beach at Montecito.
It's not hard to see why it's called the American Riviera. Beautiful.
And the crystal clear sunset... dang. It was a totally perfect day, sandy feet and all. How did you spend your Saturday?
•••
Mr. C and I quite like being out and about around town. So much in fact, that we're going to start sharing our wanderings & ramblings on a new blog, Bungalow. It's not all the way ready yet, but we'll keep you... posted.
