little bit country, little bit rock 'n' roll

Mr. C and I went to the rodeo yesterday. Oooh, I just love a good rodeo.

We saw a fantastic lasso man and his adorable 8 year old son who could jump through hoops while standing atop a horse. There was also barrel racing, trick riding and rodeo clowns, among other things. I actually hated the clown. He was awful. I also didn't care for the calf roping because those little babies just look so outmatched.

I love our Ventura County Fair because it's a little taste of country for us rock and rollers.

Conrad & Coco

I can't believe I know the stylist and interviewer of this piece! I built forts with Conrad when we were lil' kids and now here he is, all grown up and interviewing Coco Young for 'V' Magazine.

PS—Conrad, if you're reading this, I promise I won't post any compromising polaroids of you from Wyoming.

The Shoemaker Brothers

Mr. C and I went out to JJ Brewsky's in Camarillo last night to see The Shoemaker Brothers. It was the first time either of us had heard their music and we both fell immediately in love.

The 4 real brothers all sing, all play multiple instruments and all smile while they do so. We left the show so inspired that we had to stay up until the wee hours playing music of our own.

Their playing in Ventura at the Watermark this Sunday at 3p. If you're in the area, I suggest you check these fellas out.

and back again

We're home from our Americana road trip. I'm just catching my breath, but once I have all my photos and thoughts collected I hope to tell you all about the trip.
