We celebrated my Mom's birthday with tea for two at the Biltmore in Montecito. It is only a special special occasion that brings us to high tea at this beach front resort. But oh my is it lovely, complete with fresh baked scones, clotted cream and kir royals. It's afternoon perfection.

Muah! ... the sound of California kisses landing on the cheeks of Friday.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

Cream Cheese Brownies
I had this insane craving for cream cheese brownies...
They turned out pretty terrible—not enough chocolate or cream cheese—but we ate them anyway. Every last one.

Aquamarine Meditation
Remember how I told you we were repairing our bathroom? Well, it's still in the works. Today we will make yet another trip to the tile store to meditate on the options. Here's what we like so far...

Good and (sort of) Good for You
I guess it's been a little while since I've posted any baked goods.
But to be honest, it's been quite a while since I've baked. Even longer since I've baked anything good. But when my mom gave us a lifetime supply of yummy peanut I just couldn't resist making some PB chocolate chip cookies.

The recipe was originally from here, but I adapted it a bit. I added 2 tablespoons of flax seed which gave the cookies a lovely little crunch... almost like eating crunchy little bugs. Mmmm... bugs.

left to the 'Imaginarium'
The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus was rather disappointing. Were it not for the lovely Miss Lily Cole...
and a final glimpse of Heath Ledger's acting talent...
this film would have nothing at all to offer. I guess they can't all be like Brazil.
