April Showers

I'm loving this Spring weather we've been having. It's wild and unpredictable—one minute hot with sunshine and the next minute dark with clouds and windy rain. And you know what they say about April showers...

goodbye gray days

The Weather Channel kept promising a giant rain storm. 

And there were some showers on St. Paddy's Day. But the gray is all but gone now. Which is a little sad, because Ventura really does look lovely in the gloom.

Not that I'm complaining. I love sunshine too.

the levees melted like sugar...

This old footage of the Great Mississippi flood is amazing. It's wild to think of 700,000 refugees being sheltered in those little old fashioned tents.

The sun is out again here, but clouds are looming over the mountains.

It's a rainy Saturday for sure, wet and glorious. Hope you are enjoying your weekend.

Rainy Days and Mondays

I am so enjoying the sprinkles these past few days. What a relief from the late season heat wave.

It also seems fitting that this Monday should be gray and gloomy as I say goodbye to my brother and his band. They are on the road again and off to their next show in Santa Cruz. I miss them already.

Rain and Wild Horses (forget the galoshes)

It's raining again. Time to put on my rainy day shoes.

I hear the storm could continue through Saturday. But rain and wild horses can't keep us from going to the big show for Fashion Week Ventura. Our newest designs will be on the runway. So excited!

Rainy Days and Thursdays

The lightening was amazing and terrifying as I drove home tonight. I saw a huge flash of light and then all the street lamps on Main flickered out. The television is still buzzing with severe thunderstorm warnings and our candles are at the ready. I love a good rain.
